Squeezed in between larger neighbors, this country is among the smallest on Africa's mainland, but it's rich in geographic diversity. Mostly mountainous, Rwanda is dotted with small lakes, with the savannah to its east. A brutal civil war ripped the country apart in the 1990s, but the nation has since emerged a far more stable economy than many of its neighbors.
