Why you should care

Because your first car may shape your future.

Cars can teach us valuable lessons. Not only about finance and maintenance, but also more personal ones like responsibility, respect and even friendship.

Growing up in Detroit, Michigan, Chris Webber was constantly surrounded by cars and car culture. So it was only natural that the former NBA All-Star would be deeply influenced by his very first car and the responsibilities that came with it.

“Being responsible with what you have helps you as well on the court,” he says. “You value the time of your coaches, fans and people who are cheering you on.”

Listen above for Webber’s full story and learn about how his burgundy Chevy Corsica ultimately became his best friend.
