Serbia, Macedonia & Montenegro
Serbia is the largest of the former Yugoslav republics and Montenegro the smallest, while Macedonia boasts likely the most widely known historical figure of the region, Alexander the Great, who once ruled an empire that stretched from Greece to India. They've all struggled to rebuild their economies from the splinters of socialist Yugoslavia and years of war. But Montenegro now boasts the highest per capita income of the three, while Serbia, the largest, has the lowest.
