Pacific Islands

They appear specks on the world map, but the 13 Pacific Islands boast ancient cultures and span vast stretches of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, from Indonesia to Australia to the peripheries of the United States. Among the most geographically isolated nations, the Pacific Islands are also among the most vulnerable to climate change. Timber and seafood are the largest exports for most of these islands, and the smaller ones among them depend significantly on imports to sustain their societies.
