The home of Bob Marley and Usain Bolt, Jamaica is a global powerhouse in music and athletics. But the third-largest Anglophone nation in the Americas — after the U.S. and Canada — has also influenced regional political trends and serves as a base for iconic fictional characters. Marcus Garvey, national hero, was an early proponent of Black nationalism in the U.S and Jamaica. Ian Fleming used Jamaica as the setting for many of his James Bond books.
