Report: Trump Lawyers Said Presidents Can’t Obstruct Justice

The New York Times reports learning of the letter, which asserts that the Constitution empowers the chief executive to dismiss any federal official — like FBI director James Comey — or end any federal investigation for any reason. The disputed theory comes on the heels of another Times report: That Trump dictated a false statement about his son Donald Jr.’s infamous 2016 meeting with Kremlin-linked Russians.
