JFK Believed in Kids Finding Their Inner Mozart
“The life of the arts … is very close to the center of a nation’s purpose.” Those wise words came from President John F. Kennedy — whose inauguration I was so excited to attend as a student. The arts have always been able to make us laugh, cry, be inspired and forget our differences. In my beloved San Francisco, we take pride in how our artistic community brings the transformative power of the arts into all students’ lives. I think children should experience the joy and beauty of the arts in their schools and communities.
