The new Haitian president, Jovenel Moïse, is young and has lots to say, especially about agriculture, which he sees as key to rescuing Haiti. The 10-million-strong nation was first devastated by an earthquake and then by a cholera epidemic. This one hits close to home: I’m of Haitian descent, and Haiti has had some really bad luck. But it’s a proud, beautiful country whose people persevere. I’d love to do my part to get Haiti back on track.
