Haiti’s New President Is Farming Out Big Ideas
The new Haitian president, Jovenel Moïse, is young and has lots to say, especially about agriculture, which he sees as key to rescuing Haiti. The 10-million-strong nation was first devastated by an earthquake and then by a cholera epidemic. This one hits close to home: I’m of Haitian descent, and Haiti has had some really bad luck. But it’s a proud, beautiful country whose people persevere. I’d love to do my part to get Haiti back on track.
