Live TV Has an Aging Problem
Old habits die hard. While digital streaming services are driving forward, a new report suggests that normal TV isn’t necessarily budging under market pressure. But that’s due to the over-55s, who prefer to consume television the traditional way, while those aged 18-24 watch digital platforms nearly twice as much as live TV, and the 35-54 group is split between the two. Still, 85 percent of households with digital streaming subscriptions also get regular TV, so analysts say the juggernaut of old media can’t be switched off just yet.
