    Can Texas Show America How to Drive Down Suicide?

    This killer is at a 30-year high. Data from 2014, the most recent year available, shows that suicide rates are up for nearly every U.S. demographic. Victims’ loved ones — their survivors — are often left flailing, vulnerable to depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and even suicide. But “postvention” groups like the Texas chapters of Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors are working hard to stamp out the sensationalizing and normalizing of suicide, while helping those stunned by loss learn how to get help and regain hope.
