    UK Chancellor Says Brexit Will Mean New Taxes

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne, who opposes the campaign for Britain to leave the European Union, says an exit could create a $42.8 billion chasm in public finances — and it would be up to U.K. taxpayers to make up the difference. Recent polls have shown voters beginning to swing toward choosing to leave in the June 23 referendum, a prospect that has put financial markets around the globe in a panic and that has economic experts forecasting recession and doom.
