    Dr. Rachel Dolezal Resigns from NAACP Post

    The former president of the Spokane, WA, chapter of the NAACP has quit under pressure from groups concerned the racial identity scandal swirling around her will take away from the group’s mission. After years of serving as a professor of African-American studies at Eastern Washington University and living as a mixed-race woman, Dolezal was outed as a Caucasian by her parents. The 37-year old’s psychological mindset has been questioned, in particular to her claims to “transracial” black identification. She still holds her teaching position until further notice.
