    China to Get Homegrown Netflix Clone

    How do you say Orange Is the New Black in Mandarin? Alibaba, the Chinese online marketplace that sells more than Amazon and eBay combined, is planning to launch its own video-streaming service, modeling it after Netflix and HBO. Tmall Box Office will go live in two months via Alibaba’s set-top box and smart televisions, aiming to serve up to 600 million users with original and licensed content. Netflix’s plans to expand into China, meanwhile, may tune in to a lot more static.
