Raj Narayan grew up all over the world. Thanks to his dad’s construction job, he moved every two years as a kid, experiencing Taiwan, Singapore, Dubai, Egypt and, of course, his hometown of Chennai. After a stint in Georgia (the state, not the country) for college, Raj wound up in the Bay Area, a good place for anyone working in tech or enthusiastic about ramen, both of which describe him.
Now he spends his time outside of work exploring nature and food with his family. Raj’s kids are the most important thing in his life, and he spends a lot of time thinking about how to make the world comprehensible to them (and others of their generation), and how to instill hope for the future. Raj sees his role at OZY as a way to do both, which dovetails with his personal mantra: Keep it simple.
