Matt Foley is a features writer based in South Norwalk, Connecticut. Growing up in a sports-crazed household on Chicago’s far South Side, Foley was, thankfully, raised a Cubs fan. With a writer father and a mother with the gift of gab, he embraced the art of storytelling — a trait that came in handy once his wicked (allegedly) two-seam fastball failed to impress MLB scouts.
After four years at Bucknell University, Foley traded commodity futures for two years in Chicago, then worked in restaurants for a few more in New York City. His love of writing bred a freelance journalism career and, soon after, his role with OZY. A regular contributor covering the cultural threads and captivating characters that make sports the most entertaining reality show on Earth, Foley also helps plan The Huddle’s coverage.
