Her last name says it all. This Houston native likes to move her feet to music, and often. You can find Claire and soon-to-be hubby Tommy at music festivals throughout the summer months. The lovebirds — who plan to wed in spring 2018 — met in Las Vegas en route to a music venue. Three years on, they’re still hitting three to four festivals a year (they prefer the camping ones) to soak up all the electronic music their ears can handle.
Her favorite? The now-defunct TomorrowWorld. “But that’s only because I haven’t made it to OZY Fest yet,” says OZY’s senior staff accountant, noting how her 1-year-old daughter and OZY Fest share a birthday: July 23, 2016.
“She’s a light, for real,” Claire says, describing daughter Starla, whose beautifully unique name she credits to Tommy. He was always dreaming up names, she explains — at one point even looking at a wall and offering “Waller?” Hmmm. Luckily, inspiration struck, and a better name stuck.
Crunching numbers — she has a finance degree from the University of Houston — is her day job. But Claire says her superpower is being able to turn frowns upside down, and we believe her. In fact, everything about her suggests bold, colorful fun, right down to her tattoos, smile and especially those nails, always done up in bright colors, flash with a bit of sparkle.
Passionate about friends, family and music — she even sang the national anthem at hockey games in Lubbock — Claire is very happy to be working at OZY. “This place just fits me,” she says, referring to the cooperative spirit of her colleagues. “Everyone works really well together.”
And when Claire isn’t dancing to tunes, working or changing diapers, she’s busy planning her wedding … and a European honeymoon she hopes will see her and Tommy attend Tomorrowland (yep, another big music festival) in Belgium next year.
