Because when it comes to Turkey Day, sometimes it’s best to keep it simple.

Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy; that’s all you need for Thanksgiving, right? OK, collard greens are classic in some homes. And sure, sweet potatoes and ham have their place. And don’t forget the green beans. But how about some Spam? Or oysters?
In a nation as diverse as the United States, it’s no surprise that the national day of food, family and thanks serves up a varied and sometimes odd array of culinary combinations. In this latest edition of our “In the Barbershop” series, OZY’s Anthony Hamilton collects his patrons’ most loved — and loathed — meals from Thanksgivings past.
