Freddie Gray’s death in Baltimore last month was only the latest in a terrible cycle: police killing, vigil, riot, grand jury. Rinse and repeat. How to interpret all of this? The question came up last week in the barbershop of Anthony Hamilton, an OZY author. Yesterday, the state’s attorney for Baltimore, Marilyn Mosby, announced indictments of six police officers on multiple counts — including second-degree murder — in Gray’s death.
