How Was Your Day ... End of Days Diviner?

Because sometimes, it’s OK to talk to strangers

In this occasional series, OZY takes to streets and neighborhoods across the globe to ask a simple question: “How was your day?”

Well, I had heard that Hillary was supposed to be at the Convention Center. So I was down that way for quite a while. But usually I’m walking around the slave quarters or the Liberty Bell. Maybe two days a week, an hour or two at the most. I’ve been doing this for some years, since before Obama became president. But yesterday, the sign that I had said “Trump, at last.”

It comes from the Scripture in 1 Corinthians 15:52 (“In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”)

This is a new sign. I got this stick because I wanted to get the vine off it. It looks like two serpents wrapped together. I found it on the beach in Atlantic City. I had a different sign yesterday, and a different sign before that.

These are the signs of the times.

I’ve lived in Philadelphia all my life. I’m over 70. I retired from UPS. I was a forklift driver, though I had quite a few jobs over the years. Mostly hospital work, as an aide — an orderly, as they used to call them. I have stepchildren. A companion. They give me my freedom. I don’t exactly impose upon them. There’s a Scripture that says that — I think it’s Luke 14:26 — and it lets you know that in order to come into the dimension of truth, the vibration of truth, the self has to be free of attachments. It’s really graphic the way the Scriptures put it, because it says you must hate fathers, children, even yourself. It doesn’t truly mean hate, but it means you must be unattached. A state of innocence, I suppose.

Some people ask me about my political leanings. If you were to ask me if I was for or against someone, I would tell you I was neither. Truth is not a choice. And I think true democracy is not representative. I’m basically saying: Politics is not the answer.

You have to come to free your mind of self-centeredness. Of greed and ambition. And you hear a lot of preachers quoting the Scripture that “the truth shall set you free.” Well, they don’t understand it all. What it’s saying is the truth shall set the mind free of self. They think that, by talking Scripture, they’re speaking truth to power. But it’s not the words and ideas you utter from your mouth. It’s to know yourself, self-knowledge.

I wouldn’t call myself a prophet. But the other side of my sign says “Trump, in prophesy.” It’s a play off the Scripture itself, the last trumpet. Trump. We understand that what it really means is trumpet. When you hear him making a loud sound, whether it’s crazy or negative, the Scriptures are indicating:

There is something definitely afoot.
