OZY’s Accounting and Finance team has an opening for a Staff Accountant in our Mountain View office. Reporting to the Financial Manager, this person will be responsible for billing, processing of invoices, managing finance inboxes, reviewing and auditing expense reports, assisting in the monthly close, and interacting daily with other accounting team members. As a member of the team, this person will have a direct impact on the ability of the Accounting team to support OZY’s rapidly growing business across digital, television, events, and podcasts.


  • Month-End Close:
    • Assist with month-end closing process including accruals and reconciliations
    • Support the maintenance of the general ledger by researching and preparing month-end close entries
    • Ad hoc projects as assigned
  • Accounts Payable and Vendor Setup:
    • Work closely with external vendors and internal business partners to address inquiries; perform necessary research and resolve of open items
    • Accurate data entry skills on NetSuite
    • Answer all AP inquiries in billing in-box
    • Act as internal point of contact for Ozy’s Accounts Payable team
    • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
    • New vendor setup utilizing internal systems such as, NetSuite, and DocuSign
    • Responsible for setting up new vendors and obtaining all documentation in accordance with IRS 1099 regulations
  • Corporate Credit Cards/Expenses:
    • Reconcile corporate credit card reports to monthly statements
    • Review corporate credit card expense reports for compliance with company policy
    • Review employee “out of pocket” expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance ensuring proper coding and documentation is attached
  • Accounts Receivable Billing & Collections:
    • Work closely with clients to resolve invoicing issues and expedite payment; perform necessary research and resolution of open items
    • Record billing and follow up on collections for open invoices.
    • Responsible for setting up new Customer and obtaining all contact information for invoicing and collections.


  • BS or BA in Accounting or related field
  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience in a similar size company
  • Possess a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and controls
  • Experience with NetSuite and preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude, team player, and ability to quickly adapt to changes resulting from dynamic and growing business environment
  • Microsoft Office suite and intermediate Excel skills
