House Democrats Open Investigation Into Trump
The House Judiciary Committee is sending 81 document requests to people and entities linked to President Donald Trump and his associates. The probe is to gauge if Donald Trump and his administration can be tied to obstructions of justice, corruption and abuses of power. Trump’s sons are among those who’ve received letters. The White House counsel’s office and relevant officials will review the letter, according to Press Secretary Sarah Sanders.
What is the House panel hoping to achieve? They’re paving a path toward possible impeachment proceedings. Committee chairman Jerrold Nadler said they can start by “building the public record.”
