Why you should care

Because sometimes to move forward, you have to get out of your own way.

Anthony Hamilton is an OZY essayist. This is part of an ongoing OZY video series of conversations in his Mountain View, California, barbershop.

What would you say to your father, if he were here today? It’s a tough question, and Anthony Hamilton gets even tougher answers from the men in his barbershop — none of whom seems to have much positive experience with his father. But Hamilton doesn’t let them off the hook, calling out “stubbornness” and warning these young men against repeating the mistakes of their fathers.
